In a recent trip of mine to Paris, I learned a lot about comparisons. I found myself constantly comparing the different job type's to the job's here in Tanzania. It was so interesting to see the differences in "labour", and how everything works so differently there. For one thing, there were no people transporting goods around in wheelbarrows, or men carrying chunks of concrete everywhere. One of my friends, made a comment that really got to me. She said " Isn't it wierd that here mostly everything works with machinery, and back home my Askari (guard-keeper) probably does way more work, but still probably get's paid way less". I found this really confusing, and I couldn't help but wonder why...? Why do you think about this?
